so my brother got a bunch of spyware, adware, and all kinds of crap our family laptop from using limewire. i uninstalled it , but the spyware and stuff is still there. ive already tried all i can to get it off and i dont have money to take it to a computer expert. so now that i have this stuff, i wanted to Buy Music off of itunes but putting your info on the computer would be bad right? so what if i buy an itunes card? will i still have to put my info on the computer or should i just not do it at all?

First off, use iTunes if you want to buy music, or wait a few weeks or months and see if the new QTrax service is any good (it’ll be free, apparently, but I’m not holding my breath on quality).
To get rid of this spyware, go here:http://www.lavasoft.de
Download Ad-Aware Personal edition. Run it.
    Also download spybot Search-and-destroy:http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index…
    And run it.
I have both of these programs, and like them both.
Also, beat the crap out of your brother. Anyone who uses limewire these days is an idiot - it hasn’t been safe to use since 1999. Same goes for KaZaA and Bearshare.

go to http://filehippo.com/ for anti-spyware. you could also install a firewall program like zone alarm it lets you control what programs are given internet access. this will prevent spyware from sharing any of your info if its still there.

We’ve used iTunes for years and never had any problems with music we’ve purchased sending spyware, adware and the likes on to our computers. It shouldn’t matter whether you use an iTunes card or purchase directly from the site. If you use a legal music purchasing program like iTunes, you don’t open yourself (and the family computer) at risk for the viruses and whatnot that you are open to when using a site like limeware or any illegal sites.
If your computer has a virus scan, run that and use it to remove all of the unwanted junk if possible.
    Good luck!

You could try to reinstall the operating system to get rid of all that junk. If you use a gift card they couldn’t steal directly from you, but they could steal the pin number and claim the card for themselves.

I would personally wait….buy and itunes card enter in your info on a friends or family members computer and have them send the music to you.

here what you can do. that i do to download music. if you buy these two programs it will help to download music safe. download music from rhapsody. as a RAH file i believe it is. and it will download it to your computer then you can convert it to and MP, by using all music converter. then you can get along of songs. rhaposdy per month cost 12.99 and the prgrams is about 20 bucks
OR you can record any streaming sound over the internet by using replay music. i have used both and they both work well. no spyware needed. to help with your spyware problem depending on what P2p you used. i reccomed on using spybot and spysweeper. both works great. hope this helps
